Blur plays Coachella and states “You’ll never see us again”

Blur played at the California-based music festival Coachella this weekend (April 14), performing some of their hit songs from the 90s such as ‘Girls & Boys’ and ‘Song 2’.

The crowd reacted differently to what Blur band members had been used to before, causing Damon Albarn to have to encourage the crowd to sing along to some of their successful and popular songs. This attempt had failed to work and at this point in the show Damon’s attitude had grown towards this ‘uninterested’ and ‘embarrassing’ crowd.

Due to the radio-silent crowd through all of their top hit songs, Damon Albarn made a statement on stage:

“You’ll never see us again so you may as well f****** sing it.”

– Damon Albarn

Along with band members of Blur expressing want to never return to playing at Coachella, Blur fans also expressed hate towards the crowd and how they treated the show with no interest on social media such as X (formally known as Twitter). See Blur’s Instagram here.

This band won many awards, and played amazing venues such as their Wembley Stadium shows in July of 2023 which held record amounts of people and fueled so much energy and love. With admiration for their 90’s classics, in July 2023 the band released their newest album yet- although critiqued, their music discography continues to take modern Britpop by storm, carrying those nostalgic feelings from the 1990s/2000s.
