Live Gig- March 16, Feeder in Birmingham
In celebration and promotion of a new album on the way, the rock ‘n’ roll band Feeder takes on the Birmingham O2 institute and fills it’s floors. The band are due to release their album ‘Black / Red ‘ on April 5, after releasing the singles ‘Playing With Fire ‘ and ‘ELF ‘. The concert contained many of Feeder’s music from the ’90s, including floorfillers such as ‘Buck Rogers’ and ‘Just A Day’- see the full setlist below.

The O2 Institute in Birmingham is built scenically including a balcony that wraps around the main room facing the stage. The pit below fits many people, at all angles being great for seeing the stage.
The support act was a band named Chilli Jesson, who played a range of exciting and fitting songs to warm-up the crowd. They played songs of theirs such as ‘Carolina Reaper’ and ‘Love Is A Serious Mental Illness‘ with such an energy that lit up the room. You can find their Instagram here.
Feeder themselves came onto stage hearing chants, from a readily excited audience: receiving cheers when on stage. Opening with ‘ELF ‘, a new song of theirs, so a risky move, completely flowed into the rest of the tracks they played- getting amazing responses of encouragement from the audience throughout. Even with some of the newer songs carrying different styles, all played were blended beautifully and you hadn’t needed to know the songs to dance so freely to them. The band mixed both newer tracks and older tracks in a way that perfectly equaled out the experience suited for both oldies fans and newer fans in the audience.
Hearing tracks such as ‘High‘, ‘Insomnia‘ and ‘Come Back Around ‘ elevated the gig in a nostalgic way- making their older tracks sound so fresh and still buzzing- letting fans of the older albums (such as ‘Comfort In Sound ‘) know that their preference is also still so relevant.
It is clear to see that Feeder was very loved in Birmingham, cheers lasting throughout their encore and leaving the crowd wanting more songs. The band ending with ‘Soldiers Of Love‘ and ‘Just A Day‘ was the perfect combination to round off a great night.
